Repairs to a 12th centaury cottage in Suffolk

We were contacted by the owner of this cottage to quote to remove and reinstate the wattle and daub external plasterwork

We had to strengthen the internal wall without tacking it down

Putty lime and laths had to be purchased

We then mixed lime horse hair wet mix to hold it together

A scratch coat of sand and lime was then applied to strengthen up the internal wattle and daub

We then reinstated laths to the external walls

Another coat of sand and lime was applied

We had to form new cills
