If you have read Mary’s last post you will know she is a Plaster mouldings specialist working along with her brother for their father in the family business. Plaster Mouldings Direct Limited

It’s due to the family’s commitment to maintain their high quality of work, that Mary was invited to the Plaisterers Hall in the city of London where she was given the “Freedom of the Guild”, and in the future she will be made a “Freeman of the City of London” whilst working towards her Master Plasterer status.
There are two ways to become a Master Plasterer.
Either…
Provide evidence of 20 years of experience in the plastering industry and, at a minimum, be qualified to Level 3 plastering, Advanced Craft Award, NVQ Level 3, SVQ Level 3 or Diploma Level 3 and be accepted for City & Guilds’ licentiateship;
Or…
Master Plasterer status may also be granted to experienced plasterers who are able to demonstrate that they have sufficient technical skill and expertise in the plastering trade. They may be currently active as a plasterer or may have started their careers “on-the-tools” and moved into other roles in the industry.
During an interview with Mary, she told me that the family firm regularly works for the film industry making props for the movies.

The latest film they worked on was Gladiator 2 where they were contracted to work on the Sarcophagus by making corbels for the lids and enrichment moulding for the panels around the Sarcophagus.

Mary is often approached by colleges to give casting demonstrations for the students.

Mary is very active on social media with a large following on Instagram.
