James Collier the Pargeter on Fix radio

I was honoured when a member of the team at Fix Radio reached out to ask if I would consider making a sign for them. It was a flattering request, and I gladly accepted without hesitation. I love creating unique pieces, and this was an exciting project to take on.

Here Come the Girls with Melloney Harvey

I was incredibly fortunate to find my way into the plastering trade—it came to me entirely by chance. After completing my Sculpture degree in London, I stumbled across an advertisement posted by the NHTG for an apprenticeship at Keith Langton’s workshop in Wakefield. It was a big move for me, relocating from Somerset with no prior background in construction, but without a doubt, it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.

Grass Roots with Taylor Plastering

Steven started learning plastering at 18 when he joined a course at Burnley College. However, he wasn’t the most dedicated student and left without earning a qualification. Instead, he gained hands-on experience by working in the plastering trade for several years, learning valuable skills along the way.

Venetian Plastering with Rachel

My inspiration to pursue a career in plastering came from my passion for creativity and the satisfaction of seeing a project come together. The ability to transform a space and witness the final outcome was incredibly appealing. Additionally, I was motivated by the fact that plastering was a predominantly male industry at the time, and I wanted to challenge the norm and establish myself in the field.

Ryan’s Story

Preserving The Past with Thomas Parkes

I was inspired to pursue a career in plastering because of my father, who was a plasterer himself. From a very young age, I would accompany him on jobs, working alongside him on weekends and during school holidays.

Micks Talks

The History of Fibrous Plastering: From Ancient Art to Modern Design Fibrous plastering is a centuries-old craft used to create decorative architectural elements. It combines plaster with hessian (burlap) and a lightweight timber or wire framework to form intricate mouldings, ceilings, and ornamental designs

With over fifty years of working in the Plastering Trade from day one apprentice through to Freedom of the City of London and a Life Time Achievement Award, you would think that my plastering life was one of being the Perfect Plasterer, but you could not be more wrong
