The family run N & E Woodhouse Plastering Contractors have been established more than 50 years and and has seen four generations of plasterers learning new skills and passing down old ones. 

I started my career as a plasterer at around 18 or 19 years old, earning my NVQ Level 1 and 2 qualifications at Accrington College. After that, I began working for a domestic plasterer, gaining hands-on experience in the trade. Over the years, I worked with several professionals before finally deciding to start my own plastering business at the age of 24.

The UK building trade strike of 1972 was a pivotal moment in British labour history, highlighting tensions between the working class and the establishment.

We have won the project to restore large ornate cornice (proper term for coving) at Royal Hotel Scarborough at Scarborough, North Yorkshire 

Plastering was always an option for me, mainly starting as a labourer. When I left school, I began labouring for plasterers. 

The Master Plasterer Certificate recognises those who have achieved the highest level of skills in the industry over a number of years and can demonstrate excellence in the art, craft, science and practice of plastering.
